【摘要】:Thisspecificationcoverspolyolefin-basedplasticlumberproductsforuseasexteriorresidentialdeckingboards.Plasticlumberproductsarecurrentlymadepredominantlywithrecycledpolyolefinplastics(inparticularhigh-densitypolyethylene)wheretheproductsaremoreorlessnon-homogenousinthecross-section.However,thisspecificationisalsopotentiallyapplicabletosimilarmanufacturedplasticproductsmadefromotherplasticandplasticcompositematerialsthathavenon-homogenouscross-sections.Thisspecificationdetailsaproceduretocalculaterecommendedspanlengthsforspacingofsupportjoists.Thisprocedurewasdevelopedusingexperimentaldatafromatypicalunreinforcedplasticlumbermadepredominantlyfromrecycledhigh-densitypolyethylene.ThemethodologytodevelopspanlengthsforothertypesandcompositionsofplasticlumberisdetailedinAppendixX1ofthisstandard.Thevaluesarestatedininch-poundunits,asthesearecurrentlythemostcommonunitsusedbytheconstructionindustry.EquivalentSIunitsareindicatedinparentheses.However,theunitsstatedforirradianceexposureintheweatherabilitysection(6.3)areinSIunitsasthesearetheunitscommonlyusedfortestingofthistype.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Note1ThereisnosimilarorequivalentISOStandard.
